Late summer before 4th year
Al,
I wish you could visit. The peacocks on the grounds are so funny sometimes. They get very haughty.
[There's a doodle of two peacocks looking particularly snooty.]
As for your idea, I think just a few slugs is letting him off too easy. The wider variety of bugs and slimy things you can put in James' bed, the better. If you have any nettle in the house, get that on his sheets as well- it's very itchy.

Over Christmas holiday, 4th year

Sorry to write so late. It's been a year since and... I dreamed about what happened again. Not the painful part though, and I don't know if that's better or not. Pain is supposed to be scary. But the way the other curse makes you feel, like nothing is wrong? Like you'll never worry about anything again? It's supposed to be a good thing, isn't it, to feel like that? It isn't for me. Not anymore.
I know I should talk to my parents about this but I don't want them to be afraid for me anymore than they already are. I can talk to you, though, right?

I know you only just left earlier today. I know you'll only be gone a week. But I miss you already! Archimedes has been completely distraught all day. On second thought, did you feed him before you headed out this morning? That might be it.
I'll be taking good care of your lucky shirt until you get home. It's very comfortable for sleeping in. I hope your training camp goes well. They're lucky to have you. Write whenever you can, you know I'll always want to hear from you.
