The first few pages of his notebook are dedicated to goodbye letters.
"Draco-
First, I wanted to thank you for all you've done for me. If I ever gave the impression that I took living with you for granted, I apologize for that.
I'm also sorry I find it so difficult to speak about certain things, including this. The situation we've been put in isn't something most people could even conceive as possible, so I think it's understandable there's been some mistakes and awkwardness on both our parts, but we're still family. I never said as much explicitly, but even if you're not yet a parent, you're still my dad. I didn't want to force you into a position of parenting, especially not to someone who was only a couple years your junior, but more than that, I wanted to know what you were like outside of that role of father. I wanted to see if the version of you I had in my head matched up with the reality.
It's been surreal, getting to know this different side of you, and I've enjoyed it. Please take care of yourself in my absence, Draco. You shouldn't be alone in this house. You have so many friends here, people who love you and care for you. Don't neglect to go to them when you need support.
I'm ashamed to admit that when I first came here, I was afraid you wouldn't accept me. Even after you proved time and again that you would, there was always something else about me that I thought you wouldn't like, so I'd try to hide it, or at least avoid the subject. I want you to know that had nothing to do with how you are back home, or how I thought you'd be now. It was just my own fears and worries.
I'm sorry to leave you as too many people already have, but please know that when you are sent back home, Mum and I will be in your future. You've built yourself a life here, and you'll do the same there too. It's not an easy thing to do but with all you've survived in this place, I think you're well-equipped to handle it.

The rest of the pages are filled with his notes, mostly observations and speculation. Nothing ground-breaking but the fact that so many people come in with previous connections to other Chosen is the most prominent topic and there are several theories as to why that would be.
